They will almost always strike at you even with no head. Also jerk tail away as you try to cut rattles off. I usually lay a stick across neck and stand on it and put other foot on tail to cut off...

Hope they fixed the firing pin breakage that Model 12 had.. Saw several with tip broken. Still functioned but tip would not retract and sometimes caught rim of shell being loaded and caused...

Have you considered the liability issue? I won't let anyone shoot my reloads for that reason. Had a friend who let someone shoot his reloads and the gun blew up. (fool shot ammo in wrong gun) ....

It may have been a flintlock at one time but in present configuration it is precussion cap ignition.. Is the barrel smoothbore or rifled? What is diameter of the bore?
