Can I reload the 110 gr fmj hornady bullet #3017 in a 30-30 or 30-06 using the same data as the fn or sp 110 gr bullets? I came across 200 of them for $25. Looking for a use.

Wards and Hercules .410 break open single shot. Was a Hand me down when I was 12 and started hunting rabbits. It's still at my dads and been my grandpas as well.

I think i will go with the rcbs universal or lyman crank. The giraud looks awesome- but I'd miss my wife if i got that... Now to wait on a sale or buy the non-carbide lyman... $89 with the power...

Powered is not necessary, but at least better than holding onto the casing and cutter- my drill doesnt like to chuck the lee hand trimmer.

So far, my lw-15 lower is doing well. As are my buddies- we ordered 24 of them... I plan on replacing it eventually with an aluminum lower and putting a 22lr or 9mm on the lw-15.

I totally missed the second question you posted. I use RCBS dies for the 30-30 without any issue with the tip. I recall seeing an insert specially made for the ftx bullets for the hornady dies......

I called both hodgdon and sierra. Both acknowledged the difference in their data is pressure barrels(Hodgdon) and actual firearm barrels (sierra). Both advised to start closer to 49 grains and work...

I load the ftx over 33 gr of LVR, trim length 2.030" with an overall length of 2.535. It will shoot 1 moa out of my Marlin 336 glenfield if i do my part. Powder meters well too.

24 grains under a 55 gr hornady or midsouth bullet for my ar--- works well- 1/2 moa. Been thinking of trying hodgdons cfe223 though, might be cleaner. Its worth the savings of $4 a pound for sure....

Yeah bad decimal place... Been a bad week... Figured it would be good to reload but i've had a harder time with consistent accuracy with the 30-30 than my 30-06, 223 and 270.

I had seen in the Hornady manual they use the same data for each bullet weight group. I wasn't sure same powder loads would apply to the SST as they did the SP or BTHP.
