Winchester model 50

The mag cut off will not allow the carrier to operate unless it is pushed in all the time. Please PM me if you have any knowledge of this model.

+1 for Kroil just make sure it gets onto the threads. Let it work for an hour or more and try again by first tightening the screw and then loosen it.

I make parts as needed but as you say it can get expensive so I tell my customer up front. Make sure the gun is worth it to begin with.

If the hammer doesn't stay back it could be a broken hammer notch or sear problem. Have it looked at by a gunsmith.

Sounds like a bent guide rod or something.Bent spring? Take it apart and inspect as the bolt is worked back to see if you find anything.

I have installed several Rifle Basix triggers for customers and thay have all loved the way they shoot.Go for it. Remember it might not be a "drop in" and some fitting might need to be done.

It appears to be a "Forehand model" and could be large or small frame.Value between $65-$100. This is a quick check out of Fjestads' book 29th edition. Hope this helps.

There is only one on the Mav 88. They kept the cost /price down that way. Not as smooth but it will function ok.
