If I keep it lubed with WD40, it's less likely to jam. Thought that the small step in the cartridge may be part of the problem. Any Thoughts?

I think that I'll keep this as a home defense weapon and not fire it at the range anymore. Time to get the S&W MP40 that I've been lusting for.

Maybe some day I'll find THE right ammo, I'm surprised that it I was able to do so well with tumbling bullets at 40ft. 74 shots...

Lock-up problems, now that you mention it. My rifle has a 7 shot clip and after I start the second clip it will jam after 10 or 12 shots. One time a round got jammed and the bullet was shoved back...
