For that money, I would get a Wilson Combat. All the guns you will find in the price range will be awesome. The Kimber needs 400-500 rounds just to break it in. A lot of the others will run...

The 770 is not the smoothest gun in the world. I would think with a round of that high caliber it would break some of the plastic off of it at some point.

While taste is important, in a true survival situation, that is the least concern. Proper nutrition as to not make you sick is the important factor. If you have to give up taste to survive, so be it.
