Re: most accurate auto-loading caliber
Ammunition calber is a minor component of shooting well. The pistol is more important, but the shooter determines what hits the target best. My wrists don't support a .45, so I shoot nines and .38s....

I have heard that the mags for the Beretta Px4 Storm are VERY hard to load. Can anyone with experience with this pistol give me some words of wisdom, please?

Re: WW II Armor ????
His conclusions are controversial because "accepted" history was written by the Brits and French, he claims, who were trying to whitewash their abysmal political and military decisions. His data, at...

Re: WW II Armor ????
I must refer y'all, with greatest respect, to John Mosier's "The Blitzkrieg Myth" in which he provides impeccable data for his conclusion that, except for the T 34, all WW II tanks were poorly...

Re: New poll in Germany....on Adolf
I have a neighbor who was with the airborne on D Day, fought in Bastogne, and was one of the troops to see first hand what those camps were like. He still cries when discussing it, something he...

Re: Myths of WWII
His theses are these: with respect to WWI ("The Myth of the Great War"), the Germans would have defeated Britain and France in 1918, absent US intervention. He calims (and my own reading is...

Re: Good 9mm
My sons gave me a Hi Power Practical two years ago (Bless those boys!) and after a trigger job, it is a great pistol to shoot, but after a friend had a safety catch on clothing and go to the firing...

Re: Myths of WWII
Speaking of myths, has anyone read either of John Mosier's books re-evaluating both WWI and WWII? Interesting stuff, IMHO.

Re: Best WWII bolt action.
The Enfield's best feature is the bolt that cocks on closing; it enables a fairly rapid rate of fire for a bolt action weapon.

Re: What would you take to battle?
Since most combat takes place at less than 500 yards, my real WW II preference is the M 1 Carbine. I have and shoot two of them, and at a couple of hundred yards, they are pretty accurate. But the...

Re: M1 Carbine Shooters
I have two that I bought about 25 years ago for under $100 each. I shoot them both on a fairly regular basis, because ammo is cheap and they are just fun to fire. And they are far from inaccurate....

Re: Pre WW II Walther PP -- Mint
Thanks, Xracer.
The walther has no such markings. I bought it from a retired priest, whose father was a doctor. It was the father's pistol. Other than me putting a couple of mags through it before...
