Re: Cracked Forcing Cone
Gary,
Given the history of this Model 19, if it were mine I would have a custom barrel installed. You would gain many more years of service for you and the next generation of Garydudes.

Re: Slide Stop a PITA to reinsert
I use a thin guitar pick between the SS and plunger. Works great and keeps you from idiot marks if you will refrain from rotating the pin up from the bottom.

Re: Carry Options For Smith 642
The gun looks no different than a wallet in a Mika's pocket holster; it does not print like a leather holster. I respectfully disagree... A S&W M642 is a perfect pocket gun.

I have a box of Browning .357 Magnum cartridges that I believe was manufactured in the 1970s. I just took a look at the box in hopes there would be a date on the tax stamp but no such luck.

I use a 150gr Nosler Ballistic Tip over 51.0gr IMR 4350. This is my hunting load and it gives me 1/2" groups in my Savage 110. IMR 4350 is a very popular powder for .270 Winchester loads.
