Re: smith and wesson combat masterpiece
The model 18 is no different in design than the Model 17. Both can, and will be dimpled by dry firing without a snap cap or fired case. I have seen many of both with dimpled cylinders.

Re: smith and wesson combat masterpiece
It's your gun. Believe whatever you want. Unless you bought the gun new and have firsthand knowledge of the round count, you only have the old guy's word for the one box of ammo being fired. I will...

Re: smith and wesson combat masterpiece
I've seen so many S&W rimfires with dimples on the rear of the cylinder from dry firing that it could make a grown man cry. I've even seen a couple where the dimplng was so profuse that a cartridge...

Re: smith and wesson combat masterpiece
I hate to rain on your parade but the wear to the ejector rod and rather heavy turn ring would seem to indicate that this revolver was fired considerably more than one box of ammo. But if only one...

Before you get into a bind, here's the straight story. A non licensed can indeed ship a rifle or a shotgun through the USPS. Only an FFL holder, other than an 03 C&R licensee, can ship a handgun...

Re: S&W Model 51
Your gun was made in 1960, the first year of production for the Model 51. The flat latch versions were produced until 1966, so that is correct. The round butt is very scarce in the Model 51 as only...

Re: S&W M-27-2 .357 Magnum
After the 3 1/2" barrel, the 5" is the next most sought after Model 27. I think that Fleetwood1976 called it on the money.

Re: Value: S&W 39-2 9mm
Your pistol was manufactured in 1981. If you have the original numbered box, all the paperwork, and the tool kit, you could expect to realize $450.00 to $500.00 for it, provided that it's in the...

Re: S&W Model 36 serial #, stamps and date
Other than the serial number, the other numbers are assembly numbers and inspector's stamps. The assembly numbers are used to match the parts for assembly after the gun has been blued or nickeled.

Open the cylinder and see if there is a model number stamped on the frame. Also, if you post some pictures it would be easier to give you the correct answer.

Re: Pics? Anyone?
Here's one you don't see too often. It's a Victorinox "Mauser" Swiss Army Knife. It was retired in the mid 1980's.
