Re: pointy 30-30 loads

It has been many years but I have loaded 150g SPFB in 30/30 with BLC(2). Can’t recollect the charge, but seemed to shoot fine. I’m not familiar with the Savage 340, but I fired them from a lever...

Re: 40 cal reloading on Dillon question

The sizing die should be adjusted so as to just touch the shell holder. You didn’t say if you are using Dillon dies or not, they have a large radius at the end of the die and may not size as far down...

Yes Red Dot is Red Dot. Red Dot like many other “shotgun” powders can be used in handguns.

Re: Hello Everyone

The O Ring goes in on top on the powder side before you put the bottle on. It seals off the gap between the charge bar and hopper bottle so you don’t get powder leaks.

Re: brass got longer after crimping is this normal

Your brass probably didn’t get longer, your OAL did, but I wouldn’t consider 0.003 to be relevant.

Re: Cost of casting your own bullets

The last time I purchased lead I paid $72.00 for 60 lbs including shipping. Cast 2640 158g SWC for my 357mag. Used 5 sticks of lube at $3.00/stick. Total $87.00 plus cost of electricity. I don’t know...

Re: Just how deep into the case can I load a 45 ACP Lead Round Nose bullet?

A COL of 1.270 is almost at the maximum of 1.275. I seat my 230g LRN at 1.250. 4g of Titegroop is at the starting load, and Hogdon states a COL of 1.200 for 230g LRN with that load. So I would try a...

Re: Word on the street

When you do the math 5,000,000 rounds is only 100,000 boxes/50. Divided by 50 states equals an average of 2000 boxes/state. Now if there are as few as 5000 shooters in each state looking to buy 500...

Still not for 45ACP +P though. It seems there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

Re: question about Dillon 650

Remove the primer cam from machine (black plastic part, see pic green arrow).

Now the primer feed will no longer advance.

Re: Reloading 9mm lead

As long as you keep it under 1200fps you should be OK. You can use data for 124g or 125g, 1g is not a big difference. Keep in mind a heavier bullet uses less powder.

Re: How do I use the old RCBS 4 die 38 SP set?

The order of dies you stated is correct.
Oil doesn’t work well as a case sizing lube. You have to use the right stuff for the job. How do you know you will crush a case if you use more pressure?...
