Re: My Politically Incorrect Rant!
Living today is much more complicated than in 1787 I believe you will agree. Do we need big gov't? I agree with you and say no. I do believe however the gov't of 1787 would not / could not work...

Re: My Politically Incorrect Rant!
Looks like the gov't needs alot of employees to perform the functions listed. I feel as others do that gov't has grown way too large but more regulations require more workers. So what exactly is...

Re: My Politically Incorrect Rant!
Carver, I'm not quite clear on your point. If there should be no gov't. workers would every aspect of gov't. then be handled by a private business? How would that work? Would they be regulated? ...

Re: My Politically Incorrect Rant!
I have an issue with the people on the dole. If you work for the gov't. that is fine. The key word being "WORK", those people are performing a service for their pay. I also blame the gov't. for...

Carver, you are probably right there not being a way out. With 53% of the population on some sort of gov't handout we are already in way too deep. I suppose I just don't want to see our country...

Re: Remington model 788 .243
The rear locking lug design was supposed to be a problem regarding accuracy. I have seen a few and they all shot into an inch at 100 yds. Never heard of the lugs shearing, I'm sure it's possible.

Re: What burnt gun powder smell do you like?
50 firing points, 50 targets, 50 high power rifle competitors, hot, humid, no breeze, tower says ready on the left, ready on the right, lock and load, commence firing. What a wonderful aroma.

Re: 30-06 vs. 7mm Rem Mag felt recoil
I believe the physics involving the bullet weight and velocity as well as the stock design to be the deterining factors in perceived recoil. A good stock design tames alot of recoil.

Re: 8 days ....
I retired from a gov't arsenal. If the gov't goes broke I get no more retirement checks. I say let it go over the cliff and when the dust settles hit the reset. I'll survive.
