FAR-right Dutch politician Geert Wilders has postponed a speaking tour of Australia until early next year, after Immigration Minister Chris Bowen said he would not block his visit.
Mr Wilders, who has likened the Koran to Hitler's Mein Kampf and delivers talks on the theme of Islam's alleged destruction of western values, was originally due in the country this month but now plans to make it to Melbourne, Sydney and possibly Perth in February, say tour organisers.
'Trouble-stirrer' Dutch politician Geert Wilders not welcome
DUTCH far-right politician Geert Wilders won't be welcome in Western Australia because he would offend Muslims and could trigger violent protests, WA Premier Colin Barnett says. ( jack's note , you Dhimmi pratt !!! )
Federal Immigration Minister Chris Bowen yesterday labelled the controversial Dutchman's views as "extremist and offensive'' but said he would not use his ministerial powers to stop his planned speaking tour of Australia because he didn't want to make the anti-Islam campaigner "a cause celebre''.
The tour was planned for October but is now expected in February.
It was reported today that Mr Wilders' sponsor, Q Society, had sought a venue in Perth and may make the city his first stop.
Mr Barnett said Mr Wilders, the founder of the fourth-largest political party in the Netherlands, was not welcome as he would cause great offence to WA's Islamic community.
"As far as I am concerned, while there will be no attempt to ban him from Western Australia, he is not welcome and no state government venue will be made available for him to hold public meetings or the like,'' he told Fairfax radio.
"So he can come but he'll receive no government involvement and in fact we won't allow him to use government facilities.''
Mr Barnett said he understood why Mr Bowen had not stood in the way of the planned visit, saying "it's an element of free speech'', but he was concerned Mr Wilders was a trouble-stirrer.
"I think one of the features of Australia is a tolerance of religions and different cultures, so someone who makes his way in political life by being extreme is not the sort of person I want in WA.
"There's every prospect that something like this could spark riots, demonstrations and the like - I don't want to see that happen.''
and then theres gotta be a call for a beheading or it wouldn't really be islam eh ??
Muslim Cleric Feiz Mohamed calls extremists to behead Dutch MP Geert Wilders
Sydney born Feiz Mohamed calls extremists to chop off the head of Dutch anti-Islam MP Geert Wilders head. “This is really terrible news and a very serious threat, unfortunately,” says the Dutch firebrand politician.
Dutch MP Wilders who campaigns for an end to Muslim immigration and a ban on the building of new mosques and the Koran to end the “islamisation” of the Netherlands, has been round the clock protection since 2004.
Muslims and specially clerics seem to speak openly of taking lives of others, what if Australian politicians or public figures said the same of chopping the head or assassinating of the Muslims figures? Australia received Muslims in good faith believing that they were sick and tired of Iraq, Afghanistan and the extremists and was forced to flee for their lives and safety in search of peace to Australia?
But, if they want to make Australia another Iraq, Afghanistan, Middle East or Kashmir, then they should be sent back to where they come from. Its time that Australian should speak and the government take a good look into protecting its national interests and tightening up national security issues, before it looses its of control.
This is why Australia has sent its troops to Afghanistan and the Middle East as a coalition forces to bring stability in the region against forces of evil and extremists who are willing to kill and bomb the people, anyone even their own people all in the name of their gods. How much more should we take national security and national interest in our own backyard more seriously?
Peace, tolerance and acceptance go both ways not just only on the Australian side alone. No one should be allowed to make comments, threats and speeches such as this one from Australian soil. People making such comments should be taken legal action despite of their culture or belief.
