Question COLT SAA IN .44 SPECIAL

Hello, new member to TFF here,
I have a Gen 1 Colt SAA sn 3553XX circa 1936 in excellent to mint condition, barrel is 5-1/2", finish is nickel and caliber is .44 special. The grips are dark wooden (black?), when I bought the gun in 1982, I was told that they were ebony. I heard there were only 506 produced in .44 special and only 100 guns produced in 1936. Are there many of this type in Nickel?

Anybody have an idea of current value?
Thanks for any feedback.
