I don't think it's going too far out on a limb,
to state that an AKM, SKS, or Mosin M44 would
all be very respectable SHTF weapons. They're
sturdy, simple, and self-contained.
Probably not what you'd want to fight a war,
but great survival tools. Tremendous potential
in a pinch, on the run.
