In some jurisdictions (I understand) AFTER they get released (if the survive imprisonment) they are subject to "civil commitment". WHich is a jail like mental hospital. Once there the offender generally is never released. Which is a good thing.
The problem with some jurisdictions you can get jail time and or on an public offender list for p*ssing in the street. SONORA federal tier one offense good for 10-15 years on the list-AND the possibllity of being murdered by some vigilanty. Not everybody on these lists are scum.
