Read a few books on history and see the death and destruction done all over the world by those who believe. Even here in the USA the bible says that ( err a GOD says ) owning slaves is ok. It says many places that women are below men I can give you many chapter and verse quotes if you like on many of these topics. How do you square what the bible says with how Americans live?
Again not bashing simply point out that the vast majority of hose who say they believe in the bible as being the word of god sure ignore allot of what it actually says.
Of course along that same course many muslims out there do not think all non muslims should be killed. Not all jews are hasidic. Funny how those who follow the books to the letter are thought of as the fringe or radicals by those who follow the same book.
In the end I do not care who you worship or not. Those around me in my circle are of several religions. However they are friends due to who they are and how they act towards others.

Your circle of religious friends must be tolerent indeed, or perhaps your not as insistant with them as you are here, with the sheild of the computer.
You ARE bashing, plain and simple, and for one who claims logic as his 'religion', your illogical comparisons are annoying to those of us who honestly are logical.
Christianity, like many other religions, has a past that's not all that honorable.
That's logical, it's the human condition.
But to deny that Christianity and Christians have not 'matured' and gone beyond that is to ignore the current deeds of Christians worldwide, such as Childfund (where is the Islamic equivelent?) and dozens of other organizations.
There are damn few NON Christian groups or organizations doing these things, and these Christians groups have saved tens of thousands of children worldwide.
Where are the Muslims in this?
Where are the atheists?
Stop gibbering about the past, NO people or peoples have an untarnished past.
And to base ALL your 'logic' of Christians on the past misdeeds of SOME and hold that to the many is NO different than guilt by association, an illogical and bias trait.
Yet your very silent on the CURRENT misdeeds of the muslims, I couldn't help but notice that. Have you even read the MANY posts that jack 404 has put up?
Tell you what, let's be fair, and you find and post ALL the news on Christian misdeeds, sanctioned by a Christian group or Church.
We have no control or affiliation with past deeds by other Christians, just as you have none on your forebears.
It is illogical to denounce any religious group for historical events before their time if they hold no claim to it. It's no different than holding the current German people responsible for Hitlers Third Reich. It's just rude.
