50-55 pellets for 1 1/4oz BB size, loaded a bunch of these up last month with some Longshot behind them, moving at 1450 fps, ouch!

I prefer #4 buck though, 27 .24" pellets

but at HD ranges, even those duplex loads will be devastating; harder to 'fix' than a couple big buckshot holes. Can you imagine being a surgeon trying to remove and repair the damage from 50-200 pellets vs. just a few? ouch! course that's assuming the bad guy lives which isn't likely with a solid hit from a 12g at that range
