I remember way back as a kid, I'd set out shiner traps in the creek to use for bait fishing. I get some shiners in there and then some water snakes would get through holes which would drowned, then crawfish would eat the snakes down to the bones. More water snakes in those creeks than I'd ever imagined.

Once a few of us as kids were trout fishing in this waist deep creek that had over hanging trees. We'd sneak in and catch nice trout. My one buddy had a small snake fall down into his waders and he drank lots of creek water until we pulled him out. He could feel the snake down on his leg, ha ha.
