Default Re: Wht would you sign a petition at whitehouse.gov

Each State has the option to "opt out of the union" so to speak, a talk radio program I listen to went over this last night, I also heard people from the liberal island of Austin have started their own petition to not be part of TX,

The TX Gov has already said he see's no reason to change anything, TX, or any other state will never secede, why? Because then TX, for example would become it's own country, like it was before it was forcably taken away from Mexico, well what's wrong with that? you say,

Well it's a long list, but here's a few reasons why it won't happen,

Good: no taxes to the Fed Gubmint,
Bad: no millions or billions of $ FROM the Fed G,
Bad: you are now subject to import/export taxes,
etc. etc.,

Texans are mighty proud of their state, just as folks are of their own home state, but Texas doesn't have every thing you need to move forward as it's own country, for example, where are you going to get basic building supplies? like lumber, from the scraggly pines in E. TX?, how long is that going to last, guess it will have to be imported, and taxed/tariffed till it hurt's, what about copper and steel piping/products etc. etc., are you going to drink only Lone Star? the single most absolute worst swill (I can't even call it beer) ever created? or pay double for imported beer,

Hey, Mexico called, they want part of their country back sorry, couldn't resist,

I have nothing against TX, I lived in San Antonio for 10 yrs, Texan's, in general, are some of the finest folks I've ever met , I've worked in at least 25 different states, there are fine folks in every one of them, no state has it all, or is the best, each has it's positive's and negative's, every one on them.

And no other state will secede either, even though they have the option, for many more reason's than I mentioned above,
