I'm biased towards the good ole '06
and like an old timer told me a few years ago, "3 quarters is better than no quarters!"
The difference in damage I'd say is pretty small between those two with the same type of bullet. Velocity has quite a bit to do with damage in either of those calibers. Shot placement is what makes all the difference. A head shot with either one will take about anything on this continent and won't spoil any meat. (unless you eat brains, I do not
