I hold a slightly different view on denominations, but don't want to get into a discussion on it here. A lot of denominations have gone liberal, reading into Scripture what they want it to say. The churches, independant or denominational, God blesses are the ones who, as you say, ask God what He has to say about various things and go to His Word to find out. Their attitude is the one reflected by the Berean Christians (
Acts 17:10-11) or Psalm 119.
