Re: argentine ip colt
"ip"??
The major shipment of Colt M1911A1 style Government Model pistols to the Argentine government was 10,000 pistols, under a 1927 contract. Those guns were the standard Govenment Model differing only in markings from the U.S. commercial product. Other, smaller, shipments were made at different times, to the Argentine Navy and Argentine police agencies, as well as to Argentine distributors for civilian and perhaps other police sales.
The 1927 contract included a licensing agreement under which Argentina could manufacture pistols. Manufacture in Argentina began in 1945 and ended in 1966, with about 80,000 pistols made.
