Re: Attention, please! prayers needed ASAP for Marlin, he's in the Hospital!
Sorry to scare everyone like that. Marlin threw up so much between 11pm Sat night and 3:30am Sun morning that he became severely dehydrated. And with his heart condition, as well as prior kidney problems, dehydration can be a serious problem. We stayed in the ER until 7:30am Sun morning, then in ICU until 5pm Sun evening. White blood cell count was 19,000 (normal is 6,500), so there was obviously infection somewhere. The nausea was constant all day yesterday, in spite of the meds they were giving him. But he was much better today, and we were completely surprised and very pleased when they let him go home today. They had previously told us it would probably be Tuesday before he could leave. He's still weak (and sore from the throwing up), but seems to be doing well.
Thank you so much to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Marlin and I are firm believers in the power of prayer.
