if you want to go nostalgia look into a Shiloh or a Davide Pedersoli Sharps in 40/70, or 45/70... if you like the tactical approach look into a rem. M24 .308 or a Win. M70 stealth2 also in .308, and if you just want a rifle that can punch holes accurately at 1000 yds and still have enough energy to punch through a 1/2" plate of steel then look into one of the many .50 BMG rifles availabe. i myself like the ways of the old, having a 45/70 and a SMLE .303 that i regularly compete with, as well as hunt with...
