10-22 jamming problems?
i've had 3 ruger 10-22 rifles... all carbine models. 2 from walmart.. 1 from the local gunstore... and i've had the same problem with all three of them. they fail to eject. they will extract, but the bolt ends up closing on an empty casing. i was shooting that cheap federal ammo from walmart... so i switched to cheap remington ammo... okay well it still did the same thing, so i ended up using some cci mini mags... and it did the same dad blame thing still. i complained... 2 of the rifles went back to the company. both rifles still had the problem when i got them back. ruger said that they tested the 10-22's with the cheap walmart federal stuff, 400 rounds with no malfunctions in my rifle. on one of the rifles they replaced the barrel, the bolt and who knows what else. i dont recall what they did on the other one. okay, the rifles never had a problem when using aftermarket steel lips or hot lips mag's only factory mags. and on a ruger 10-22 the shell ejects off of the magazine, even though there is an ejector in the gun, but it is only used when firing without a mag. so i took my dremel tool and cut the little area where the shell contacts to eject on the magazine and solved the problem. i've talked to a lot of people that have had nothing but praise for the ruger 10-22.. and other than the problems i experienced over a year's period, i love everything about them. anyone else out there have this problem with the 10-22?
