Where is it stated in US Code that you loose your citizenship if you gain citizenship of another country? My wife's mother immigrated here from the Philippines, but she was born on a US naval base in Italy. When she was born she was automatically a US citizen because she was on US territory, and her father is a US citizen. She was offered citizenship of the Philippines as well as Italy. As far as she or I know, she could legally accept citizenship in all three countries. Although, she declined citizenship in the other two.

In any case, as far as I know, the only way you can loose your citizenship is if you voluntarily surrender it.
