i bought a poly tech m14s last year, it shot great, too high though, even after adjusting the sight all the way. anyway mine came in a poly tech box, marked m14s on the left side of rec. fake f/s. it was a poly for sure from everything i read. from what i understand norinco bought poly out and their rifles were manufactured with no f/s, infact they were silver soldered to prevent anyone to be able to us their threads. hope it helps. i sold mine after reading horror stories about them, check fulton armory's page
