This program was found to be way too expensive. It never was even supposed to be a full on replacement of the M4. This weapon was only supposed to be a gateway to the real project of the XM29, which could not meet any of the weight standards of the military. Working models were produced and proved to be very nice, although a little big and bulky in my opinion.
