Default Re: Prescribed drugs and violence

Antidepressant drugs are far to easy to get prescriptions for these days, used to be a psychiatrist would need to spend considerable time with an individual before prescribing meds. Now, General Practitioners and who knows, maybe even dentists can and will prescribe drugs they know little about, with very little information about a patient. Why? Spiff. Anyone who has ever worked as a manufacturers rep or salesperson knows what a spiff is. I designed kitchens and sold cabinets for a company in Iowa for a couple yrs, and reps used to give spiffs all the time, ie: you sell this particular style, model, etc, I'll give you 15.00 a box.
Besides, it's a lot easier to medicate than treat.Ask any drunk. Oh, and as far as people using mood altering, thought altering chemicals... might want to re-think that whole guns and drug combination.
