You've got a Canadian '41 Longbranch ?
That was the first year of production for them and are getting somewhat rare.
They started production with the Mk1 ( bolt removal was done by a plunger type of catch , rear of the receiver ) then went to the Mk1* ( bolt removal is a cut-out of the bolt rail near the breech ) . Much the same thing when Savage / Stevens were making No4's for the cause.
Not pre-war though
Remember that the British Commonwealth was at war in '39 and Canada was very much part of the Commonwealth then.
