Default Re: Cast boolit loads for mil-surp rifles

I shoot more cast lead bullets in my milsurps than jacketed. The only problem I've had is using cast lead in rifles with pitted bores. That can make a real mess. I've shot similar to your article reduced cast lead loads that I've gotten from the Lyman cast bullet load manual & it's nice to shoot the old milsups with soft recoiling loads.

I start by collecting wheelweights from tire shops & using cheaper Lee molds to cast up bullets. I try to stay away from having to use gaschecks but when I do I use Lee sizers to put 'em on. I don't use my 450 lubrisizer anymore-just too lazy. I use Lee's liquid Allox. Come to think of it, I use a Lee melting pot too...

Sounds like a Lee commercial
