Hey all,

Title says it all. I have a GSG-5 that needs High Velocity .22lr in order to cycle, so I was wondering, who makes the most powerful commercially available .22lr rounds?

I have been purchasing Remmington YellowJacket High/Hyper Velocity Hollow points. It states that it has a 1,500 FPS muzzle velocity, which is the fastest I've seen. As far as "knockdown power" goes, however, at my range here in Midland, Tx we have a large steel silhouette target area with various steel targets at 10yds, 25yds, 50yds, 75yds, 100yds, and 200yds. (**I think**). This bullet has a hard time knocking down anything over a 2ft tall steel target at 25yds, and doesnt even move them at any other distance past that. Perhaps its from the light weight of the bullet b/c of the hollow point, but i'd love to reach out and knock down some targets past the 25-50yd marker with a .22lr.

The other downside to this bullet is that its very dirty... well I dont know how else to describe it, but it seems like after 2 clips (about 50 rounds) I'm getting jams because of all of the leftover burnt powder.


So, there you have it. Can anyone else reccomend a better/higher quality/more powerful .22lr than this?
