Note Sen. Schumer's legislation would disenfranchise anyone accused of a violation ! No trial, no adjudication, no relief for the innocent, no way to for them to appeal/rectify the disenfranchisement........Yes the proposed time frame is five years......But a stroke of the pen could make it lifetime !

We're saddled with a President with distinctly socialist/dictatorial leanings. A President that's supported racism, supported contravention of established law, and encouraged the demunition of states' rights/powers in public statements in support of illegal union activities ! Now he's proposed the nomination of Mr. Travers to head BATFE, when the nominee has little to no support within his organization. An organization teetering upon the brink of total collapse as more implicatory evidence emerges BATFE is the prime source of Mexican Drug Cartel arms that can bew traced back to the U..S. !! IOW an agency of our fedral government is not only contributing to a major crime problem in a bordering nation, but is using that conflict to further an "anti-gun" agenda across America !! >MW
Wow Schumer is an idiot. How is that fair to disenfranchise anybody who is accused? Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

I don't even believe in government requiring background checks. Honestly, it should be at the discretion of the seller of said gun. If they want to run one, let them. Because it violates the Second Amendment as an infringement upon the right to keep and bear arms. Therefore the government can't do them. But a private business can.

I think it all goes back to these idiots wanting someone else to look out for them. The "give me" mentality. Whereas people like us pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and take responsibility for our own safety and take responsibilty for our own lives.

I'm so sick of them curtailing my rights just simply because they are paranoid and don't feel safe. I don't feel safe. That's why I purchased a gun and am trying to learn to be proficient with it.
