Default Re: Help me decide....

And as far as my wife shooting, she enjoys it when occasionally we go out back and shoot pistols, but she was never really "into" it like I have been in my life. When I competed in IPSC she went to a few matches with me and was bored out of her MIND, and never wanted to shoot in matches.

She lets me do all I want with it, and "puts up" with my obsession, but it's not for her. She used to hunt with her Grandfather when she was a girl, but it was mainly to spend time with the old guy she loved so much, she was never really into it and never shot anything. Right after we got married she hunted with me and him a couple of times, but I tried to get her interested in hunting with me after he died but being outside at Oh-dark-30 AM in cold and wet weather is NOT for her any more, LOL....

I have tried to get her to go to the range with me, but she always passes.

I'm content that she allows me my passion, and knows enough how to use her .38 and a couple of the shotguns so she can protect herself when I am away, but that's as far as she will ever go with it I'm afraid.

Years ago we bowled together in mixed leagues and enjoyed that, but it kind of died after 10 years or so...

We also used to do a lot of tent camping when the kids were small, and then started going just ourselves when they grew up, and we enjoyed that time together. We ALMOST got into primitive camping and were going to do the full blown rendesvous at Friendship, but it never got that far. We DID have all the cooking irons and a rotisserie made for us by a blacksmith and she loves cooking over a campfire and got good at it, but we were getting a little old and stiff to sleep on an air mattress any more and we didn't see the point in getting an RV since that isn't REALLY camping, so when my son and I got her into golf a few years ago, golf then replaced our camping as our "time together" thing.

On the other hand she is OBSESSED with Golf as much as me with guns and hunting, me I just LIKE it a lot but it's the main thing we enjoy doing together, and I probably enjoy it more just to be with HER and see her do well when we are playing. I play maybe 4 or 5 times a year with guys from work, and it's fun as far as it goes as long as I can keep up and don't embarrass myself with the REAL golfers, but I actually would rather just play with her! The funny thing is we play in tournaments at the club, and the OTHER guys would rather have HER on the team than ME! LOL Around the club I am known as "Terrie's Husband" LOL They have it figured out that on a couple of the long holes, if she booms a drive down the middle like she usually does from the ladies tees which are sometimes 100 yds CLOSER to the hole than the "pro" tees we men have to use, their team's SECOND shot is then better than with any of THEIR drives....The first tournament she wouldn't play UNLESS she was on my team, now it's "Let's make sure we are on DIFFERENT teams so we have a better chance to win MONEY." Which make sense except I always get stuck on a team with one scratch golfer and 4 other losers like me and we struggle to not finish LAST. The GOOD news is she splits her winnings with me

Except of course for the GLOATING thing when she beats me, so I have to play well enough to keep her HONEST at least...

It's so bad with her that "The Golf Channel" is on in my house like BACKGROUND music just about any time she is up and she isn't watching the two or three other shows she watches each week! ...LOL
