Great post Hatch!!
I understand their inability to look at what current events are at face value, or to walk them backwards and then see how we went so horribly wrong in many regards. Some people, if you move them out of their comfort zone, even just a smidge, thats it, they get hostile right away, whether it's threats or mockery or whatever the case may be.
I understand it, but it doesn't help them a single bit when they find out they were wrong.
When I think about really really horrific things happening to our economy I think about the people who will be affected by it, and it just goes back to the story of the ant the grasshopper. Either you're prepared for the cold winter or you're not!
The difference is, in 1850 most men with firearms understood how to work land and make their living while protecting whats theirs... in 2050, if it takes that long, it's going to be all about "I"m hungry and armed..." and that is a problem.
And it might not be 2050 either, runaway debt problems, unemployment numbers that are totally out of control and an administration that would love to make all of that worse because it increases their political base.
I hope I'm wrong, but I think things will get a lot worse before they get any better.
