Well, I have one "Layed Away."
With my wife not working and a few extra expenses this payday my wife informed me "we can PROBABLY afford it but it would be better the LAST paycheck of the month..."
We haven't been married 30 years going on 31 for me NOT to be able to read between the lines...
Anyway, I was impressed when I stopped in this morning before I went to my first store...yeah a little wear on the black "lacquer" finish, but they also included a nice used Bianchi snap top Sig P226 holster...it looked kinda funny with a bunch of slots, slits, and looked like had options for wearing in many belt postions, cross draw, high hip, horizontal small of back...and the salesman told me he would let me pick from 4 or 5...
But I said no thanks, and left, thinking heck the sale lasted until July 31, I might be back before then....
And thought about it all day. Then even made a call to my wife...who told me "...mmm, how much? Don't forget we are driving home for your nephew's wedding this weekend, and the house payment and insurance are due, and well, go ahead...and then I suggested maybe I see if they do layaway and she said COOL, we will be FINE inext payday....

)
I didn't tell her I was 20 miles away ready to hit my next store....
I turned around, went back, and after an awkward delay, they were busy as heck due to their big sale, and the salesman who sold me my M57 last month came over and called me by name, and apologized because he had seen me with the other salesman earlier and they don't "step on each other's toes" when it comes to commissions but the other guy was on break...I told him, the other guy said he would let me pick from 3 or 4, and he said they weren't supposed to do that but he woudl see what he could do...
And in about 10 minutes he brought me two...along with the best holster he could find AND the shoulder harness that was included...(no WONDER all the slots and slits!)
Anyway, one LOOKED better but the one with more wear had a much smoother trigger pull...so I picked the one with more wear...the salesman then said pick any two of the 4 mags from both guns that I wanted, one had like a thick base with a like a finger extension, but two of the others with the plain flat sheet metal bases looked newer with less wear so I picked them....
and layed it away for $50....
The main thing I DIDN'T like about it was the "Thumb Rest" Bulge on the grip which messed up access to the 1911 style mag release (FINALLY a European handgun with a mag release in the RIGHT place instead of the heel...)
I'm hoping if they haven't already that soon Pierce Grips may make replacement rubber grips for it...
But it was kind of intriguing, controls right where JMBrowning put them....CAN you carry it cocked and Locked if you don't like the DA first shot?
I love the 9x18 round, my Baikal Makarov is my summer carry gun, I have about 250 or so S&B reloadable cases/ factory rounds on top of a few hundred combloc surplus, I might just have to buy some 9x18 dies and some .365 bullets...
