Re: Daily Devotional; formerly Chaplains Corner
Thanks for that Terry;
Your thoughts stimulate my thinking.
Makes me think of Romans 12:1-2: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
We are nonconformists to the world, but we become conformed to what God wants us to be.
When the task seems too great, there are many passages that say He is right here with us. I like Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
(Please excuse the KJV--It's what I memorized this in years ago and it sort of sticks with me.)
God is the one who commands us--we have His commission, His warrant, His authority, to be different from the rest of the world. We need to be different in line with Joshua 1:8 and Romans 12:1.
Oh, and Happy New Year to all!!
