My post is not addressed to anyone specific ROMT. I also agree that a lot of christians are falling for lies. My concern comes from seeing well meaning people introduce dissension & strife out of "legalistic" beliefs.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with having difference of opinions between Christians. But, arguing about vain "doctrinal" beliefs that have nothing to do with one's Salvation
(by GRACE) does little to further the cause of Christ.
I think the
"Essentials of FAITH" should be our primary focus to a lost world. Then has people are discipled and begin to grow in their faith, they can learn about the
"NON-essentials" that may help them find the place within the
"BODY" to which they have been called.
The EPC denomination has a code of ethics to which all members are encouraged to adhere:
- In the "Essentials of Faith" we are to have UNITY.
- In the "Non-essentials" we are to show GRACE.
- BUT! In all thing we are to show CHARITY!
I just think some people try to misuse scripture
(or misunderstand scripture) when it comes to the NON-essentials of Salvation.
IMHO; If you are a hand, be the BEST hand you can be. Don't worry about the leg.
(Just point the way to CHRIST!)
If you are a "foot" in the BODY, don't worry about the arm, just make sure you stay of the right course.
If one member of the "Body" fights against another member of the "Body" that causes the whole BODY to be less effective at carrying out a desired task.
Shouldn't "WE" as members of the "same" BODY
(that is CHRIST) work in unison as to BEST further the cause of the GOSPEL?
