Savage has long made good accurate rifles that in years past performed as well and cost less than the products of many competitors. The Remington 700 is often regarded as the strongest mass produced commercial bolt action, and as accurate as the Savage. Mauser designs are controlled feed and adequately strong. Their accuracy depends on barrel and bedding, as is true of all rifles.
