Big Bill - good info and your a man after my own heart - I have a very old Auto Ord Govt Model and have pretty much done or had done everything you listed for your Norinco, and I prefer the McCormick Shooting Star 8's too. These days, and for MANY years, my AO sports a flat mainspring hosing, polished feed ramp and throated chamber on a VN era GI barrel, with a match bushing, long link, FLGR, 18# spring, and a ShokBuff. I love it, and while I would own 100 1911's if I could afford em, my old AO isnt going ANYWHERE.
