I am not sure which I like better, my 1911, or my Springfield XD 45. Both work flawlessly. I have shot maybe 1000+ rounds through my XD without a hickup, and the 1911 is still too new to make such a statement. The 1911 has a much better feel, it is more sleek (less blocky, is that a word?) and is accurate, but the XD is scary accurate with 13+1 rounds. The Springfield CCW's with heavier clothing, but I have not chosen a CCW holster for the 1911 yet.

I agree with Dan, but if I had to choose between both pistols, I believe the 1911 would have to be it. Bottom line, nicer gun, attractive looking, it will be around much longer, but I am glad I can have both.
