Default Meplate uniforming

Do you really need to uniform meplates?

I'm getting my Berger bullets this week and just wondering. I'm working on 1k loads for me 308...

I would think not, as that would be in the same league as neck truing and ensuring that every case weighs the same in the interest of nth. degree accuracy. Variations in meplat mean very little in general, within reason. Variations in base configuration mean a whole lot more. See if you get your expected accuracy without the uniforming. If you go ahead with it, don't expect anything that you can measure, unless you're doing the whole bench rest accuracy regimen with your loads. Way too tedious for me!

Check this link. Lots of info from those that have tested and from a bullet manufacturer. http://forum.accurateshooter.com/ind...opic=3785278.0
