Angry My Ruger came back from repairs worse.

So I got my 95 back on thurs and took it out to shoot today and it functions even worse than before I sent it in for repairs.Every shot, literaly is an fte when shot 115 grain.124 and 147 grain are some what better but still very bad. They said it had ejector problema and that 45 rounds had been fired through without incident but Ruger needs to get their act together.

I sent a Ruger LC9 back to them because we (3 people) were having trouble hitting a 2x3 foot paper at 5 yards. They sent it back with no repairs stating there was nothing wroong with it. It went down the road and I will never own another Ruger.

Sorry to hear about your gun , its not something that i hear very common with the P95s. I hope they get it worked out for ya. As for the LC9 in my experience there pretty accurate little guns, my friend has one and does very well with it. I am not the best with it myself being that I haven't much trigger time and since it has a long pull its very easy to shoot off without practicing the trigger pull with a snap cap.

that is to bad, try using what ever works best so you can get a few hundred rounds through her and then maybe your problems will clear up.

As to the perceived accuracy problem of zachp; I am not being a "Smart Donkey", but do not know the shooting abilities of you or your friends. Many persons have great difficulty shooting small, light, pocket size pistols in .380 ACP, 9 X19 mm, and .40 S&W.

Find someone who is experienced in shooting small pistols such as the LC9 or LCP, ACCURATELY. Have this person shoot two or three 5 shot test groups with your pistol and another pistol of the same or similar type, at anywhere from 7 to 10 yards distance. If there is, in fact, a significant difference in the accuracy performance of the different pistols; mail the test targets with an explanatory letter to Ms. Susan Maxwell, Head of Quality and Customer Service, Strum-Ruger Inc., 200 Ruger Road, Prescott, AZ 86301.

Hope tis is useful.

P.S. - At 15 feet a LC9 9 (or any similar pocket pistol) should group well under 3" CTC for most 5 shot groups in the hands of a proficient shooter.

The 95's are big blocky guns. The trigger is the problem on them. It's double action first shot and then the remaining shots are single action. There is alot of take up on those single action shots.

Sorry to hear about your issues. We have a P95 and have had several "P" series guns over the years..........never had any issues with them.

It would be going right back to them if it was me.
The only experience I have with Ruger and their customer service/repair was on my 10/22. They corrected the problem and did so in a timely manner. They tossed in an extra mag for my problems and have not had an issue since.
I would give them another chance to make it right. By the way have you tried using a different mag for it, sometimes a bad mag will cause many headaches until you realize its the mag not the gun.

I have three mags and ran ammo through everyone.I seemed that the slide was not cycleing. The slide would be completely closed with the spent casing or half open and very stiff when it was racked to eject the casing.

While I'm not surprised that warranty work may not have been done properly as I have had many issues over the years with cars, campers and appliances where the net result was getting rid of the lemon and starting over. However, guns were never involved. Since they are rather small, consist of relatively few parts and perform only one function, one would think a lemon would be spotted before it ever left the factory. I would think this would be especially true of one sent back for warranty repairs. Test firing would show up a failure to, well, shoot, feed and eject.

I'm inclined to agree with "Hammerslagger" that the shooter might at least be part of the problem. I have owned Rugers for more than 50 yrs. and never had a single issue with one. That includes revolvers and semi's. I would take one over a S&W any day.

Of course, I'm old and nothing is like it used to be. I guess some folks just shouldn't buy Ruger's.

Sorry about the problems you all are having. Personally, I love Ruger firearms, and the only problem I've ever had was one magazine for a MKIII not feeding properly. Ruger offered to replace it but I got busy and forgot to send it back.

I know in my case the shooter is not the problem.Shot my soon to be brother in law's xd in 9mm and.45 and never had a problem. Also my stbbil is a lifelong(32yrs)shooter and had all the same problems that I did with the gun both before and after the repair.

So this is rugers current line. The problem was caused by my after market mag.According to them they have fired 200 rounds of various brands through my gun and have detected no problems other than my AM mag.Total BS.The gun had FTEs no matter what mag I used .They also neglected to tell me that they have already shipped it back to me and have provided no shipping info what so ever nor did they offer any.ruger is a clown outfit IMO.From the research I have done the company was once very credible, but seem to have grown too much to care what they are selling the consumer.Seems to me they just didn't want to admit they had sold a lemon and would come up with any cheap excuse rather than the truth.Buyer beware.

I'm sorry to hear you are not satisfied with Ruger. I have six Rugers now but have traded some others over the years. I have had occasion to send two of them back to Ruger for repair. The first was a New Model Blackhawk in .45 Colt that I picked up used because the previous owner had taken a file to the front sight so he could fast draw it. All he did was ruin a great gun. Ruger replaced the barrel and I got back what looked like a NIB Blackhawk. That was a while back the the price was $75.00. I had to send my LCR in for warranty work and it too was returned in three weeks like new. I can't sing the praises of Ruger guns or repair work high enough. I think your experience is the exception rather than the rule. If I were you I would contact them again and tell them you are still having the same problem.

sadly that may be a person and on down not the company

they teach this save money at any cost including blaming the client where possible and returning the thing with a pile of horse hockey, i caught baretta at it a couple time but its always been new middle managers trying to make a name and screwing the companys rep with me and other smaller dealers in the process ,

(Baretta here is a big player and handles many other companies weapons )

i like em but had to go over the idiots heads to get things sorted a couple times ..

write a email to the HQ

put a link to here , state your case cold and clean , state in plain english your very upset , but keep it polite so they have no reason to dump your letter

make a video of your problem , post it to youtube or live leak

attach the link to the email and send that

( if you create a few thousand hits on the YT pic they'll respond if the numbers are there alone .. )

sarcasm of a product and brand works better than spite .. focus on the service side ..

good luck eh ..

Gee, it is sort of nice (in a bad way) to hear a rant about how bad a Ruger is. Usually, that kind of fuming hatred is directed at S&W for real or fictional problems and Ruger is held up as total perfection.

The gun arrived yesterday and still no email about shipping info.I had planned to go to the range this weekend but work has put the kibosh on that,so next week will be the day I get to find out if they have fixed it or not.I have very little faith in the ruger company at this point.I just want my SA sub comp at this point.

I hate to quote myself but,
I got my Ruger Single Ten back for repair of the Pawl as it had worn (8 month's old) and the "repair ticket" said;
Replaced - Pawl
Replaced - Front Sights (had a scratch on the front, which
was nice of them to have replaced.)

Got it out and it didnt look as though the Pawl had been touched???
And in fact, it had'nt!
The cylinder, with loading gate open, would spin "both"
ways. Clock-wise and Counter Clock-wise.

I Called Ruger back yesterday and explained the
"situation" and they sent me a pre-paid postage lable,
via-email, to send it back to them for repair......
Just thought I'd share.

So I got the ruger back a few weeks ago and just got to the range over the weekend. The star of the show was my new XDSC9,which functioned perfectly through 250 rounds and is one helluva piece.I brought the the ruger along to check if the problem was actually fixed and put two mags through it flawlessly.Went back to shooting the XD and then decided to put one more mag through the p95.This time the gun jammed on every other round. Not really sure what to do what to do at this point.I think a few more mags through it and if the problem persists contact ruger once again and request a new weapon.Do they do that with problem weapons?
