some , its the display at the lithgow small arms museum in Lithgow NSW Australia this is the complete collection made at the lithgow small arms factory from model 1 lee martini's right through to last the m 6 jungle carbines ( m 7 where civil made despite what is told)
to complete it was a story it used to be complete before the anti gunners got to it and other things we rebuilt it from scratch and last year the collection was completed again with help from a former member here Art Brady who sadly passed away So now theres a small brass plaque on the butt of the 1937 model dedicated to Art so everyone knows about the yank who helped make the Lithgow Collection complete heres how it looks today with Art's help thanks also to Don from NZ the dealer who got it here for us from the collector Art found , and to Dennis the collector who donated it , ( i dunno who donated the 1923 that was missing but it too was US sourced Via a Art ) Last edited by jack404; 07-13-2012 at 12:35 AM.. |

A Mosin Nagant in .22? That's wild. I ran into someone with a .303 rebarreled to .22. With super colibri, it sure was quiet!

Some more Australian stuff:
![]() ![]() Helmet, revolver, 1945 dated lighter, etc, made in Australia, except for the Owen SMG bayonet frog - that's Canadian made. |

Jack, In the image of the lithgow small arms factory collection, lower left. There is a wooden thing with a pipe sticking out of it. What is that thing?

if you mean this ( below ) i think its one of the boxes ( or replica) of what they used to snipe with in gallipoli and other trench warfare area's
mount a rifle in it and while you hold it up you looked up and the sight pane was reflected downwards so you could see it folks got confirmed with these often with one sniper having 80 + confirmed with such a gadget |

Thanks, PA
I've got several Pattern 14 .303 rifles too. I notice that you are looking for HXP .303. I found some at an auction last year, along with some surplus .303 that was on strippers and in white bandoleers. Are you familiar with .303 headstamps? I'd like to id the surplus ammo, if possible. I've heard that the .303 HXP ammo is pretty good stuff, although I haven't shot any of mine yet. Last edited by Calfed; 07-15-2012 at 03:43 PM.. |

Here are a few more .303's:
![]() From the top down: Canadian M1905 Ross w/US Property marks under a packet of Canadian ammo along with a U.S. marked bayonet. A No.5 made in 1945 w/bayo. An unissued No. 4 MKII from 1955 (that's not the bayonet which came with it, but an interesting and proper bayonet for the post war No.4) |

![]() Some not-exactly-.303's: A 1965 Indian made 7.62 Nato rifle, and an Indian ".410 Musket" converted/built in 1948. There is also a 1945 vintage Indian bayonet pictured with them. |
