Default 55th High School Reunion

This week end is my 55th high school reunion and some of the fellows expressed a desire to go down to the range and shoot something. I asked if there were any of my guns they would like to shoot and the answer was pretty much, no, they would shoot their Glocks. What is with these old geezers and Glocks. We loaded up the old Mercury and hit the road. Mercy I thought I might need helper springs with all the guns, ammo and those big bellies.

It was on the chilly side with temperatures in the 40's but the sun was out bright. We set up all the targets and got down to some plinking. Only Larry is a shooter as he participates in the Glock Shooting Sports Senior events in his Charleston S.C. area. Art doesn't shoot much at all and Roger only shoots when he is able to come down to the range a couple times a year. We really shot more BULL than we shot targets but that happens when old class mates get together.

I got to experience a couple guns that Art brought along. A Ruger MK II long bull barrel and a Ruger P89DC. He bought them from a friend that needed some money. The long barrel MK II is a hoot to shoot and if you miss with that you are definitely doing something wrong. What really surprised me was the P89DC. I have never even handled one before and always looked at them as sort of a "chunk". Wow was I wrong. I really liked that pistol, excellent trigger, very comfortable in the hand and best of all I could hit every thing I shoot at. Those of you that own one have a great handgun.

I brought along my Glock just so it wouldn't feel bad being left at home but I didn't shoot it. I shot my S&W M&P9 which I am trying to get proficient with but still struggling. Also brought the Ruger MK III bull barrel Target which is without a doubt my favorite plinking pistol. It seems to like the Federal Champion 36 grain Value Pack "745" ammo just fine.

Last evening was the big supper and the topic most wanted to know about was what all went on down at the range. I think a lot of them are sorry they didn't come along. All in all a great time shared at the range and at the dinner with old friends.

That would be a hoot to do on a class reunion, to bad the majority of my old classmates are tree huggin, save the whales, don't disturb the forest flamin liberals.

55th! Where'd you hide the walkers, Todd?
I'm just kidding you know.
A great idea. Looks like you all had a good time.
I just missed my 40th reunion, but like others have said, most of my classmates are still tree huggers and you know who voters!

I went to a small country school, one long building grade 1 thru 12. Most of my classmates are dead. Never knew why but a lot of them commited suicide and a lot went to prison for different reasons. You would not exspect that from a bunch of farm raised kids. Me I was a cop when I was a young man and then a computer programmer for an aircraft company until I retired in 2007.

Our 55th is next year. I'd like to do some shooting with old friends, but it probably won't happen.

Good that the P fits you. I've carried the P85 for many years because it fits me and my eye alignment.

I have a pre-Mark I and really like it. The only .22 auto I have shot I like better is the Colt's Woodsman. Unfortunately, I can't afford to own one.
