Default Update

Just to let everyone know that I am on the mend. Today has been my best day in almost a month. Hopefully I can resume my work in the shop Monday. I have had the crude, worst case in my life. It started off as a sinus cough, then after a Dr's visit a shot and 2 prescriptions, it tightened up my cough and I had to sleep in a chair because every time I would lay down I would start coughing. In the chair I could only sleep for a hour or so without waking up to the consistent cough. The next Monday I went back to another Dr. and they gave me a Z pack of some kind and inhaler for the whizzing and some prescription cough syrup. Then he wanted me to go get an chest X-ray. Well about 2 hours after that he called me to inform me that the X-ray was clear except that I had spots on my right lung. He told me to go to my regular Dr. for him to check it out. So here I go trying to get an appointment with him, remind you that I was still about bedfast. Finally after about 2 days I got to see him, then he tells me that he has the same thing and that my first X-rays from 2002 had showed the same thing. So there was nothing to worry about, which was a good thing. He ordered more prescription cough syrup and told me not to use the inhaler. Then last Monday I went to another one of my specialist and she gave me a 7 day plan of steroids and this is the third day after she told me to start them and I already feel a lot better.
Hope this is not too boring for you, but I thought a few people might like to know where I have been. Well guess what, I'M BACK. hopefully.

Sounds like things have not been a lot of fun. Sorry about all your discomfort and hoping your doctor's get things straight. Hoping you're better, Carl.

Speaking of boards Carl. I made some Bodarc vice jaws for my big vice. stuck em on with 2 sided tape. Works perfect. They are very hard and wont compress easily but still dont mar the finish on guns. I use that vice for everything from pushing sights to torquing barrel nuts.

Way to go Josh, always try new things, you will be surprised at the outcome. I always try new things and they sometimes work and sometimes don't, LOL. But I think you have hit on a really good thing and I am going to line my vise jaws and also try that.
Thanks for the thought and sharing.

Prednisone by chance?

I have pinched nerves in my neck and back and when they get bad my DR precribes this. Works, but makes me FAT. No food, no beer and I still get fat. If ya feel a weight gain, do some weights or something and turn it into muscle instead of fat like I do.

I have been keeping up with you thru Sam. He stopped here on his last trip thru Florida. He said you were having trouble with pigmies again so I figured it was a tribal disease you were dealing with. Either way, I am glad to hear you are getting better.

I have had to take prednisone off and on most of my life due to my asthma. As long as it is taken in short spurts and your doc tapers you off of it you will be fine. I am glad you are doing better.

I don't think a weeks worth of Prednisone is going to effect my weight, I hope not, cause I sure don't need any more. During this cold or what ever it was I have lost about 7 lbs. so I have a head start on it. I think I know why it puts weight on you, it gives you this uncontrollable urge to eat. I have eat more the last 2 days than I have in the last week.
Dan it is very possible that it was a tribal disease caused by that trip of pygmies that came to the BBQ with OZO. Them is some bad little critters anyway, no telling what you could catch from them, that may be what is wrong with OZO, ya think?

Well, Sam told me some horror stories about the tribal illnesses and the more I think about ozo and his mental state, the more possible it is. I will have to study up on it some more but I am glad your doing better. I dont think ozo is curable.
