Default Most beautiful fighting pistol ever...

....is in my opinion the Colt 1861 Navy-

(that's an Uberti repro)

...of course, opinions may vary.

Evolution of the Colt single action sixgun 1860-1873: Model 1860 Army,
Richard-Mason Cartridge Conversion, 1871-72 Open-Top and the 1873 Peacemaker.

Lamentations Chapter 5:

2. Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
3. We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers [are] as widows.
5. Our necks [are] under persecution: we labour, [and] have no rest.
16. The crown is fallen [from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
21. Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

I saw an Uberti open top at the gun store yesterday. It's a .38spl. The look and feel of it was just elegant. It was priced close to $499, which was a little out of my price range, but it sure was classy looking.

Yup. I'm a semi-auto guy, but every time I pick up my '61 Navy repro
it puts a smile on my face.

All the best of the '51 Navy and '60 Army combined in one package.

Plus 1.. I have only 1 revolver, it is a Ruger Old Vaquero .45lc and everytime I pick it up I giggle like a schoolboy. I love the old ones.

Heres two I think should be on the short list, a repo walker and a 1915 vintage colt
