I have a browning belgium made grade lll .22 LR I am second owner since 1985- what is it worth? it is in vg-exe condition

Well, there are several factors involved such as sights and whatnot's, but a quick and dirty answer is, A FN Grade III in 98 percent 2,625, in 95 percent 1,650 That is percentage in terms of remaining finish. My Blue book is two years old and I'm too cheap to buy a new one, so add 10 percent for inflation. That is the retail price you would pay if you walked in a gun store, not what you would receive if you sold it to a gun store. The store has to pay insurance, rent, hired help and feed momma and the kiddies so they would only offer 60 to 70 percent of perceived value. If I'm off on this, someone please jump in. Really, really need pictures because your excellent may be someone else's good.

Agree with RJay, no way to give you even a good ballpark without pics on this one. Is it a lever or semi-auto?

Thank you- I realize that I should provide a picture but your ball park figures tell me that a sight unseen offer from a gun dealer of $500.00 is way off- The serial number indicates the gun was made in 1971 and is better than 98% bluing on the barrel the receiver being engraved silver -there are no marks on the burled wood stock

A sight " unseen " value will always be a low ball. The dealer really has no ideal if you are accurate in your personal condition appraisal or not. It's somewhat like going down to the local car dealer and asking " what is my 30 year old Ford worth, it is in new condition and only the back seat was used.
