Smile JLA Load hit!!!

Well I went out again but to the other side of the swamp saw allot of small bucks and does then all of a sudden there was does walking up to me (I was hunting on the ground).
When a spiker came up to me he was walking up to my left and the only nice doe was still 100 or better walking straight at me.
So I held on the neck of the doe and waited to the spike to bust me and when he snorted I shot and the doe.she was still 90+ yards out well she just dropped!!
I hit her dead center at the base of the neck and it made one hell of a hole going in but no exit wound! the round just blew up the heart and lungs.
She was walking up hill to me so I had a good angle hitting her in the neck.
THESE ROUND ARE EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!!!!!!!!
THANKS JOSH!!!
They fly long range and still spread out at close range.
I'll post a pic of the entrence hole tomorrow morning. It's huge!!!!
Mike

No exit means the shroom is still in her. Get back. I want to see it..

Post Re: JLA Load hit!!!

I am sorry this is a continued story.
It's a Beowulf .50 cal the bullet is a Hornady FTX for.500 mag.
All the details are in the "Hey Goofy" thread in general discussion.
JLA and I have been working on a load that will reach out to 250 yards and still be able to take out a deer at 50 yards.
It all started a few years back when the regs. changed so we could use rifles in my zone.
I wanted to have a rifle that would shoot long and short distance but with out changing ammo so I built a Beowulf from scratch but could not get the right load that was good from 10 yards out to 200+ yards.
I have always liked Hornady but was not available so Josh loaded up some for me. And after testing them "The results are in the large bore section" I was very VERY happy with the results.
So I went out hunting and shot this doe.
