Lot of very good Mags out there, it is more a case of personal preferance IF they work in your gun. I think that Wilson are some of the best although I have had very good luck with the ACT Mags. I had a bunch of Kimber and I ended up putting the Wilson 47D springs and followers in them to make them work 100%. You will get as many answers as to what ones are the best, as asking what everyone likes in a woman. (Beside that.) ![]()

Based on my experience, I would recommend Wilson Combat as the way to go.
As to an inexpensive place to shop, check CTD, Cheaper Than Dirt, and Midway.

The newer Kimber Mags are OK - the first ones were junk. Get yourself some Wilson 47Ds and don't look back. The other mags I've had real good luck with are Mec-Gars.
Gun shows and shopping local ammo dealers are the best deals on bulk ammo. Go in and specifically ask for 500-1,000 rounds and tell them you expect a deal. New ammo, 230gr FMJ should run you in the $95-100 range in my neck of the woods. |

I have about 3500 rounds thru it and it has become a sweet shooter. Not nearly as good as my new Nighthawk Talon, wich is alot more accurate. I did not like the brush stainless finish it was way to fragile so I had it refinished in the KIM-PRo black finish. Love the new finish, it takes a lickin and keeps lookin good. The stainless showed every little nick and blemish, I am way too fussy. ![]() This is what it looks like now ![]()

Smallblock
After some cosideration my dealer let me swap it for a grand raptor. I have only put a box thru it but its really a nice pistol. I bought an extra stainless 8 shot magazine and both have worked well so far. What should I expect to pay for a wilson magazine? |
