Member Posts: 1 (3/7/03 10:35:06 pm) Reply Firestorm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1st question, does anyone own a FS 45 Govt 2nd question, does anyone have problem with the spent cartridges. Reason being, My 45 is bending the end of the shell, opposite side of where the ejector grabs it. Is this common? Did I mention that it's brand new... I know what your gonna say, save your money and buy a real gun... 1st pistol limited funds shooter45 us *TFF Chief Of Staff* Posts: 2222 (3/7/03 10:53:02 pm) Reply Re: Firestorm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TFF. The bent case mouth is a common problem with a 1911 . The pistol will need to be shot about 300 rounds for break-in. Check to see if the extractor is adjusted correctly. If so, have a pistolsmith flair and lower the ejection port. I talked to a guy that owns a gun shop about them and he gave me the "It's not a Colt, Kimber, Wilson" etc, etc. But then he told me in his limited experience from a few people he has talked to that owns them that the owners were very pleased with the Firestorm. Now not everbody is going to be happy with what they get, I hear that some people are having problems with the vaunted Kimber saftey. Keep me informed in this thread on how satisfied you are with your Firestorm. Supradraco Member Posts: 6 (3/8/03 12:13:00 pm) Reply 45 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have a compact .45 and I love it. I paid less then the price stated on their web sight, and the gun functions better then more expebsive guns I have bought. I gave a good review of it on shooters.com after I bought it. IMHO a gun, a car, a job ...if it works for you its the best thing in the world. I owned a BMW that was a piece of ^&*# right off the showroom floor and I have still own a ford escort that has never given me trouble. The fact that they will replace the gun if its not good says alot, not that it means its a good gun only that if you do get a lemon, you have a way to replace it. (thanks for nothing SIG)

I've had my Firestorm for several months now. I've shot it...and I've had no major malfunctions with it, except for one thing. I have a hiccup with hollow points. I believe the feed ramp is too steep for hollow points to feed correctly. Not that this problem worries me, I prefer to shoot with FMJ ball ammo anyways(no probs with FMJ ball), but nonetheless a noticeable problem. I'm happy with it, especailly for the price I got it at. I love the 1911 frame and for a starter .45...it's worth it. Especially with extended slide catch, skeletonized hammer and a lifetime warranty to the origianl owner. I plan to buy a Kimber later, but for now this will do. If I find anything else interesting about this pistol I'll make sure I post it folks. Happy shooting!
